Yes, FIAT does end in a vowel.
FIAT is an acronym for
Fabrica Italiano
Automobili Torino.
All four words end in vowels. |

This car was driven professionally in
the exciting and glamorous import/export business, running
drugs between Mexico and Texas. It was confiscated and
destined for the crusher but was saved by "Mr. Iron Butt"
himself, the infamous Shaun Folkerts, veteran of countless
Fiat rescues all over the U.S. He drove it only once,
on the 3000 mile "long and winding road" home where it
was parked in his collection and not driven again until I
took possession four years
later. After sorting out a vacume leak, a U-joint
replacement and dumping the old gas, it was good to go. In December of 2004 it became an everyday driver.

Lancia is one of the oldest auto manufacturers, and arguably one of the most
innovative car companies in the world, with many engineering "firsts" that are
common place on many of today's modern cars. Click on the Lancia logo to learn more

This car was bought on ebay. I flew to Boston to pick it up, drove it back to
Florida non-stop except for food and fuel, and it has been Teresa's everyday driver for
about three years now. Click on the picture to find out how reliable an exotic
Italian sports car can be in everyday use. |

Lancia Beta Coupe
A friend in Kansas stumbled upon this one and passed the info along to me.
Purchased it for $500. Great driving car. Was it a good deal? As soon as I
can find time to build the Beta Coupe page
you'll be able to click the picture and read on.

I only owned this one briefly and never got it
running, but here is the story... Early one morning, I checked my overnight email
and found a message from a friend, and Italian car collector. It simply stated
"Do not even drink that first cup of coffee before you call me." I called
him right away and he told me of this Fiat 130 Coupe in California. This is an
extremely rare find. Most Fiat fanatics don't even know this car exists. It's
a huge, grand touring, Pininfarina coupe powered by a Lampredi designed 3.2 liter overhead
cam V6, ZF 5 speed, independent suspension at all four corners.....all the good
stuff. Unfortunately, I lost my access to a shop before I could get to
work on it, so I traded it to Shaun for the yellow Brava pictured above.
